Yummy Yorkshire Ice Cream Company named Food & Drink Producer of the Year

18th May 2010 - 00:00
Abstract
Huddersfield ice cream company Yummy Yorkshire has scooped the accolade of Food & Drink Producer of the Year in the 2010 Yorkshire Rural Awards.
The company beat off stiff competition from Ryedale Vineyards, the York-based wine producer and SLOEmotion, which specialises in the production of gin, vodka, brandy, whisky, truffles and chutney from sloe berries. Speaking about the award Jeremy Holmes, co-founder of Yummy Yorkshire said: "Winning this award is very important to us and means a great deal because both my wife Louise and I are Yorkshire born and bred. "It's a real honour to achieve recognition from fellow Yorkshiremen such as Sir Thomas Ingilby and Gary Verity who sat on the judging panel for the hard work we have put into perfecting our products." The Yorkshire Rural Awards, now in their fourth year, recognise outstanding achievements across a variety of sectors and include accolades for environmental projects, business, farming and food and drink producers, as well as for restoring some of the county's important rural buildings.
