The menu has a selection of dishes for hospitals to serve this December, including a new Broccoli & Silton Soup and a brand-new Baked Chestnut Mushroom Pie topped with a sage and onion crumb for those on a plant-based diet.
Alongside these are a selection of returning customer favourites, such as the seasonal Wiltshire Ham with Orange & Cranberries and traditional Sliced Turkey in Gravy.
Apetito has furthered its selection of festive side dishes with a Parsnip & Potato Gratin, made of diced parsnips in a cheese sauce and topped with potatoes, cheese and parsley. This limited-edition dish comes alongside other essentials such as Pigs in Blankets, Red Cabbage with Apple & Port and Brussels Sprouts.
The meal provider has launched a new Mulled Fruit Pie, filled with spiced apples, blackberries and redcurrants and topped with shortcrust pastry, as well as the returning Mincemeat Crumble Sponge. For a more traditional offering, patients can enjoy a Premium Christmas Pudding or Sticky Toffee Pudding.
Its CarteChoix range also has seasonal flavours to offer as hospitals can choose from Sliced Turkey, Smoked Haddock in Cheese & Chive Sauce or Puff Pastry Topped Quorn & Mushroom Pie – finished off with a new Sticky Toffee Pudding with Custard or Apple Pie with Custard.
Neil Hargreaves, general manager of healthcare at Apetito, said: “We know that delicious food plays a big role in celebrating the festive period, which is why our Christmas menu is thoughtfully designed to capture traditional flavours and bring a sense of joy to your patients.
“Each dish is not only full of flavour but also developed by our skilled chefs and expert dietitians to support patient recovery with essential, balanced nutrition.”
Believing that everyone should taste the joy of Christmas without compromise, Apetito also has a range of texture modified festive favourites that are both safe and nutritious for those living with dysphagia.
This includes a brand-new IDDSI Level 4 Festive Turkey, and a Turkey in an Orange and Redcurrant Gravy option in both IDDSI Levels 5 and 6. Ensuring patients living with swallowing difficulties can finish off with a festive treat, the range has a Mince Pie dessert in both Level 5 and 6, as well as a Level 4 Spiced Pudding & Vanilla Sauce, packed full of seasonal flavours.
Hargreaves added: “We’re especially pleased to offer a wide range of texture modified meals, ensuring that individuals living with dysphagia can still enjoy a safe, nourishing, and tasty Christmas dining experience. Our goal is to ensure every patient can celebrate with confidence and dignity, no matter their dietary needs.”
