Abstract
Baker Street’s sliced breads remain a staple on public sector menus as it can be used throughout the day for toast or sandwiches.

According to research from Mintel 99.8% of UK households purchase bread or bread products. Baker Street helps caterers meet the demand by providing a range of breads to suit all menus, supplied ambient and packed for long-lasting freshness.

All products from Baker Street, which is part of the St. Pierre Groupe of bakery brands, are packed with a minimum 35-day shelf life (delivered to depot) to maximise availability.

It means caterers can maintain quality whilst reducing cost, risk of damage and service time when compared with frozen bread products.

This is because there is no need to thaw and serve, and no risk of impacting quality when refreezing products that aren’t used on the first thaw. It also ensures availability and gives public sector caterers the chance to free up freezer space for higher margin meat products.
