Abstract
To celebrate the festive period we have created a list of our favourite Christmas food facts!
  • In Japan, eating Kentucky Fried Chicken has become something of a Yule tide tradition for millions of people, and can be so popular some diners have to pre-order their special KFC Christmas dinner two months in advance.
  • There are over 300 million mince pies eaten over Christmas.
  • The average number of calories in a Christmas dinner is 957.
  • The majority of families in the UK (76%) will have a roast turkey as their centrepiece of their festive meal and approximately 10 million Turkeys will be eaten.
  • It is estimated that 230,000 tonnes of Christmas food is thrown away every year.
