NACC board sets strategic direction for 2026 & beyond
Abstract
The National Association of Care Catering (NACC) national executive board convened for its first meeting and strategy day of the year at Able Care Homes in Bristol.

National and regional officers from across England, Scotland and Wales came together to shape the association’s plans for the next 18 months, with a focus on strengthening its strategic direction and delivering even greater value to members.

A key area of discussion was the rollout of two new professional qualifications, set to launch in Spring/Summer 2026. These qualifications represent over two years of collaborative development and reinforce the NACC’s commitment to raising standards and supporting professional development across the care catering sector.

The new qualifications include:

  • Level 2 Special Award for Chefs in Health and Social Care Catering – developed in partnership with the Hospital Caterers Association (HCA) and the Confederation of Tourism & Hospitality (CTH).
  • Level 4 Senior Culinary Chef Apprenticeship – delivered in collaboration with Umbrella Training, designed to support career progression and leadership development within the sector.

The board also began planning for the organisation’s 40th anniversary in 2027. Further updates and announcements will follow in the coming months.
