Abstract
The Scottish Food Commission has announced that it will host their launch event in March at Tollcross Central Hall in Edinburgh titled ‘Making Food Work for All’.

This event will bring together key figures from across the sector including producers, retailers, public bodies, community organisations, academics and policy makers to introduce the Commission’s purpose, approach, and ambitions as Scotland’s new independent champion for a fair, sustainable, and thriving food system.

A spokesperson for the Scottish Food Commission said: “At this event, we’ll introduce who we are, outline our mission, and unveil our Initial Strategic Plan Consultation. This is your first opportunity to help shape the Commission’s early priorities and influence the direction of our work. Connect with leaders and partners from across the food system, hear our vision, and be part of the national conversation on Scotland’s food future.”

Former Public Sector Catering Alliance chair Jayne Jones has taken on the role as the inaugural chief executive of the Scottish Food Commission, which aims to ensure that the good food nation plans align with national priorities and public interest.

The Commission will play a crucial role in shaping Scotland's food policy, will be scrutinising and making recommendations on good food nation plans, as well as conducting research and providing advice to Scottish ministers. The event, which is taking place on 19th March 2026, has now sold out.
