Wilson Vale strengthens food service nutrition with The Gut Health Clinic
Abstract
Contract caterer Wilson Vale has announced it is working with The Gut Health Clinic, a team of specialist dietitians, to bring evidence-led gut health insight into their food and nutrition offer for clients.

The Gut Health Clinic was founded by registered dietitian and gut health scientist Dr Megan Rossi (PhD, RD) and brings together a team of experienced specialist dietitians who work across clinical and corporate settings.

The team focuses on translating gut health science into practical, inclusive nutrition guidance that can be applied in real-world food environments.

This collaboration includes menu guidance, food tastings, educational sessions and workplace talks to support understanding of gut health and nutrition. This input complements the chefs’ focus on quality ingredients and balanced nutrition.

As highlighted by British Nutrition Foundation guidance, gut health is closely linked to dietary fibre intake, yet most UK adults consume significantly less fibre than recommended. Current guidance suggests around 30g of fibre per day, while average intakes sit closer to 18–20g of fibre.

Fibre plays a key role in supporting gut function by nourishing beneficial gut bacteria and contributing to digestive and wider metabolic health.

Melissa Wallbank, managing director of Wilson Vale, said: “We are delighted to be strengthening our nutritional approach with the expertise of The Gut Health Clinic dietitians. Their focus on improving the nutritional quality and impact of food aligns closely with our own commitment to ingredient quality and balanced menus.”
