Women 1st Shine Awards hospitality winners announced

Winners of the 2013 Shine Awards recognising female excellence within hospitality, passenger transport, travel and tourism have been announced, along with the names of the latest inductees into the Top 100 Club of the Most Influential Women in the industry.

The hospitality industry winners are:
Mentor of the Year Award: Debrah Dhugga – general manager, Dukes St. James London
Stepping Up Award Winner (sponsored by B.Hive): Sarah Swaysland – marketing manager, Be At One Cocktail Bars
Large Business Award (sponsored by InterContinental Hotels Group):  McDonald’s Restaurants
Woman of the Year Award (sponsored by Merlin Entertainments):  Margot Slattery – managing director Ireland and Northern Ireland, Sodexo Ltd.

The winners and new inductees were announced at a gala dinner at the at the London Marriott Hotel attended by industry dignitaries and hosted by ex-rugby union star and now television presenter, Matt Dawson.

The women inducted into the Women 1st Top 100 Club are:

Catherine Roe, managing director – trading, Elior UK
Fiona Legros, managing director, Results Search & Selection
Fiona Ryland, HR director, Compass Group UK and Ireland
Franca Knowles MBE, people director, Beds and Bars
Julie Moore, managing director, Green Gourmet
Karen Davies, HR director, Novus Leisure
Kate Nicholls, strategic affairs director, Association of Licensed Multiple Retailers (ALMR)
Lynn Hood, managing director, The Belfry Hotel and Golf Resort
Lynne Graham, human resources director, Westbury Street Holdings (WSH)
Margot Slattery, managing director Ireland and Northern Ireland, Sodexo
Niccola Boyd-Stevenson, managing director, Panache Consultancy, and vice-chair, Foodservice Consultants Society International UK and Ireland
Susan Martindale, group HR director, Mitchells & Butlers
