The Craft Guild of Chefs have chosen to change their awards for 2021 to recognise the work of chefs across the country who have stood up and put people and their community first.
With lockdown now easing and many only having recently returned to their roles post-furlough, we have received a number of requests to extend the nomination deadline so entries can be completed - y

Young National Chef of the Year, launched in 2012, highlights the most talented young chefs in the UK.
Marc Billings, sous chef at Prestwold Hall, impressed in the first heat at Sheffield College on 11 June where he went through to the final.
John Howarth from contract caterer CH&Co won the Apprentice Chef Award. Howarth has gained experience working at a number of the company’s units.
The winner of the Honorary Award was named as Phil Hooper, who worked at Sodexo for 40 years before stepping down from his position of brand communication director last year.
The awards will recognise and reward leading talent in the hospitality industry.

Apprentice Chef Award
The Kitchen and Pastry heats took place at the University of West London and University College Birmingham under the watchful eye of industry experts, led by Chair of Examiners, Russell Bateman.
An audience of 800 industry luminaries saw the likes of the Galvin Brothers, Chris and Jeff, who were awarded the Special Award and Sodexo’s Gareth Billington who was named the People’s Choice.
