The Food for Life Served Here Award is an independent award scheme for those serving “local, fresh and honest food cooked by chefs who really care about quality and ingredients".
The idea came about after Fresh Direct took delivery of the already paid for consignment, only to find out the restaurant group they were intended for no longer required the fruit.

Over 140 shortlisted nominees, and those who nominated them, attended the Gala Dinner and Awards Ceremony, hosted by comedian, television personality and star performer Ian Irving.
Now in its fifth year, the prize fund totals more than £10,000, and every nominated KP will receive a gift.
A total of 14 young farmers are leading the campaign. Co-op Farming Pioneers will be taking part and the National Federation of Young Farmers' Clubs is supporting.
Researchers and businesses can apply for a share of the funding through three priority themes, with the grants ranging from £50k to £250k.
