First cafe at Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park to be named Unity Kitchen Cafe

The first café on Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park will be operated by the Camden Society and named Unity Kitchen Café. It will be one of four permanent cafes and four permanent kiosks across the 560 acre site and will be the first to open in July. Alongside the Café there are two community rooms, which will be run by Community Links.

Torode and Wallace – famous for their straight-talking approach – were given access to all areas of the airport to sample dishes from Heathrow’s 73 restaurants and bars to better understand and improve the airport offering. As a result the duo will now help the Heathrow team to introduce healthier options throughout the terminals and their experiences are also being used to inform Heathrow’s first ever food guide.

Her experience includes similar positions with British Gas/Centrica, Land Securities Group and Electronic Arts, where she was responsible for staffing matters across 16 countries. She has also worked internationally with the Walt Disney Company, B.H. Blackwell and Exxon Mobil. Currently also a non-executive director with FirstCare and Central and Cecil Housing Trust, she retains a place on the CBI Employment and Skills Board.
