This year’s campaign focuses on building children’s knowledge about healthy eating and wellbeing, and on making positive changes in behaviour and attitudes towards food, cooking and exercise.
The Plymouth based catering company won the award for its Ed’s Big Summer Food Tour, the campaign to help children who need meals during school holidays.
This most recent investment will enable the business to further develop its infrastructure, including sales resource, to allow for the considerable growth forecast over the next 12 months.
The chef is currently leading a campaign from the School Food Matters charity, Schools to Market to educate children better on where food comes from.
Across 20 items audited, café items were an average £1.83 across higher education establishments compared to the high street average of £2.03 - an average of 10% higher.
A key function of the new facility will be to offer nutritionally balanced cookery and nutrition workshops for pupils and school cooks with Eden’s team of chefs and nutritionists.
The healthy snacks are priced from 75p and are served in addition to its own-brand ranges including street food and grab and go.
