The regional finals took place at Brakes Kitchen in Reading on Wednesday 12th March.

The regional final, which took place at Brakes Kitchen in Reading, involved seven other chefs competing for a place in the competition’s national final.

This event, which takes place between 12-1.30pm, gives Welsh MPs the opportunity to meet experts from the school food industry whilst enjoying ‘mouthwatering’ tasters from school lunch menus served

The LACA School Chef of the Year competition, which is sponsored by Bisto from Premier Foods, asks chefs

The event will kick-off with Neil Porter welcoming attendees and sharing the aims of the day. LACA chair Judith Gregory will then give attendees an update to LACA’s funding campaign.

Competitors are required to prepare cook and present four portions of a grab & go/breaktime savoury snack with a total cost per head of 80p. 

During the SCOTY final Jennifer, who is a school chef at Sarum Academy (OCS) in Salisbury, impressed judges with her inclusion of fish, ambitious flavours and her creativity.
