The study, published in the British Food Journal, is based on interviews with a small sample of nine to 11 year olds attending an after school club in the West Midlands area.
Solutions are being sought by the Welsh Government that reduce the levels of salt, sugar and saturated fats, as well as improve the nutritional value of food and drink for children.
The investigation was carried out by The One Show through the use of Freedom of Information (FOI) requests.
